Well it really starts in the nucleus where tRNA is formed. After tRNA is formed it moves out of the nucleus and gathers up amino acids. Then it pairs with a ribosome and creates a protein.

The organelle that prepares proteins for specific jobs is call the ER, or endoplasmic reticulum.
