70 1/3- 24 1/4=?
70 4/12- 24 3/12= 46 1/12
46 1/12 /2= 23 1/24

Answer:

The bar should be placed
23(1)/(24) cm from the each edge of the door.

Explanation:

Length of the towel bar
24(1)/(4) cm

Width of the door =
70(1)/(3) cm

Let the distance from the edge of the door to bar be x.

2x+24(1)/(4) cm=70(1)/(3) cm

2x+(97)/(4) cm=(211)/(3) cm

2x=(211)/(3) cm-(97)/(4)cm

2x=(211* 4)-(97* 3))/(3* 4) cm

2x=(553)/(12) cm

x=(553)/(24)=23(1)/(24) cm

The bar should be placed
23(1)/(24) cm from the each edge of the door.
