The slope-intercept form is y=mx+b y = m ⁢ x + b , where m m is the slope and b b is the y-intercept. Since 3x 3 ⁢ x does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right side of the equation by subtracting 3x 3 ⁢ x from both sides. Divide each term by −2 - 2 and simplify.
