Mike bought 3 gallons of orange juice to make fruit punch for a party. He used 9 quarts of the orange juice.

How many quarts of orange juice were left?
(1 gallon = 4 quarts)

There are 3/4th or .75 gallon left of orange juice. 9 quarts is equivalent to two and 1/4 gallons. 3 minus 2 and 1/4= 3/4

this is very simple, all u have to do is find out how many quarts does 3 gallons make, and once u do that, all u have to do is subtract the 9 quarts from the 3 gallons(12 quarts) and u will get 3 quarts left! :)
hope it helped:)
