Surface area of a cylinder = 2 x Pi x r^2 + 2 x Pi x r x h

R = 27 cm
H = 37 cm

Take away the Pi seeing as you want to keep it in terms of Pi

2 x 27^2 + 2 x 27 x 37 = 3456 Pi cm^2
Your answer is B

Answer: the surface area of the cylinder in terms of π is 3,456 π cm² (option B ).

Explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to analyze the information given:

Radius of the base of cylinder r = 27cm

Height of the cylinder h = 33cm

Surface area of the Cylinder = Area of two base circles + Area of rolled

Area of each circle base is π x r². So, the area of two base circles is 2π x r².

Area of the area rolled: 2 x π x r x h

Replacing the variables with the values given:

Surface area = 2π x r² + 2 x π x r x h

s = 2 x π x 27² + 2 x π x 27x 37

s = 1,458 π + 1,998 π

s= 3,456 π

In conclusion, the surface area of the cylinder in terms of π is 3,456 π cm²(option B ).
