Mrs.Diaz makes five dozen cookies for her class. One ninth of her 27 students are absent the day she brings cookies. If she shares the cookies equally among the students who are present, how many cookies will each student? Please help me due 2-16-17

1/9 of 27 is 3 because "of" means to multiply.

1/9*27=3 if you check in a calculator

27-3=24

24 students were present.

60/24=2.5

Each student got two and a half cookies.
