12x + 100 = 700
12x = 700 - 100
12x = 600
x = 600/12
x = 50 per month

Answer:

Monthly fee of fitness center is $50.

Explanation:

Joining fee of a fitness center is $100 with a monthly fee.

I have spent total of $700 last year at fitness center and we have to calculate the monthly fee.

Let the monthly fee of the fitness center is $x.

Therefore yearly fees of the center will be = $12x

In addition to this fee i have to give the joining fee of $100. Therefore total expenditure will be = 12x + 100

Therefore the equation which represents the annual expense of the fitness center is

12x + 100 = 700

From this equation we can calculate the monthly fee.

12x = 700 - 100

12x = 600

x = 600/12 = 50

Therefore monthly fees of the fitness center is $50.
