Volume of Pyramid is given by 1/3 base area x height

From the figure we see the base have equal side x so it is a square .Are of

Base = area of square.

Area of base = area of square = x .x = x2

Volume of Pyramid = 1/3 . base area .height

Volume of Pyramid = 972 cubic inches given.

Height of Pyramid= ½ x inches .

Substituting the values of volume ,height and base area we have:

972=1/3 .x2.1/2 x.

972=1/6 x3

Multiplying both sides by 6 we have:

5832=x3

Taking cuberoot of both sides.

X=18in

Length of the side of base is x= 18in each height is ½ x = ½ .18= 9 in
