You can ignore the "4 miles" in this problem!
You walk further (1/2 mile) on Monday than on Tuesday (1/3 mile). All you have to do is to subtract 1/3 mile from 1/2 mile. What is the LCD here? 6.
Can you now do the subtraction?

1/2-1/3=3/6-2/6=1/6
