The perimeter of a rectangle is given by two times the length plus two times the width, so we have:


\begin{gathered} P=2L+2W\\ \\ P=2(5u+9v)+2(8u-2v)\\ \\ P=10u+18v+16u-4v\\ \\ P=26u+14v \end{gathered}

Therefore the perimeter's expression is 26u + 14v
