I would subsitute but hey, whatever floats your boat

minus y both sides in 1st equation and add to 2nd equation

-4x-y=0
6x+y=6 +
2x+0y=6

2x=6
divide 2
x=3

sub back

y=-4x
y=-4(3)
y=-12


(3,-12) is answer
