The wildcat strike by employees of the Pullman Company in 1894 was not approved by a union.

The Pullman strike arised from the increase in working hours and a cut in wages. This was a consequence of the effects of a recession that resulted of the Panic of 1893 which led George Pullman to increase working hours. Consequently, the workers protested.

The Pullman Company funded by George Pullman became the face of the passenger train industry during the Golden Age of rail travel through the first half of the 20th century.
