To solve this problem I'll use proportions.

2 1/8 cups ------------------------ 1/2 cup of chocolate.

x ----------------------- 1 cup od chocolate chips

x = (1*2 1/8) / 1/2

x = 17/8 / 2

x = 4 % cups of peanuts
