Check the picture below.

(\stackrel{x_1}{2}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{7})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{3}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{9}) ~\hfill \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{rise} {\stackrel{y_2}{9}-\stackrel{y1}{7}}}{\underset{run} {\underset{x_2}{3}-\underset{x_1}{2}}}\implies \cfrac{2}{1}\implies 2 \\\\\\ \begin{array}c \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{7}=\stackrel{m}{2}(x-\stackrel{x_1}{2}) \\\\\\ y-7=2x-4\implies y = 2x+3

Answer:

Equation would be y=2x+3.

Explanation:

Let's take two points. Like (0,3) and (3,9) from the line.

Now

slope(m) = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

=(9-3)/(3-0)

= 6/3

so , m. = 2

now

y=mx+c

or, 3 = 2×0+c

or, 3 = 0+c

so, c = 3

Again,

y=mx+c

or, y = 2x+3
