The equation y=-2x-1 represents a line which is parallel to the line 2x+y=6.

You have to put the equation 2x+y=6 into slope-intercept form (y=mx+b). When you put the equation into slope-intercept the equation is now y=-2x-6. Then all you do is find the equation that has the same slope which is -2.
