To be honest, this is a fairly low score on the PSAT. But, don't frown, you can always retake your SAT for a chance to improve your score. If you retake your SAT and still fail to meet your expectations, most colleges don't require the SAT as an admission requirement. But even though you did not do all that great, it shows that you tried. So I would encourage that you try a again, and if it still does not go much higher don't feel obligated to list it on your college application. You could simply list the score and attach a little note saying, "I feel that this score does not represent my academic capabilities." Or not list it at all. But, please do try again, study hard! Also, think about taking sub-topic SAT's.

It all depends on your grade level. For sophomores, I would assume that it is an average score ( I am a sophomore myself, but I received a 1270). For juniors, this is below average. Your schools curriculum comes into play as well. So in short, yes or sophomores and no for juniors.
