To solve the equation 5x+10, you divide both sides by 5 because you want to get x by it's self and when you divide both sides by 5, x=2. SO THE ANSWER IS x=5.

The GCF of 5x and 10 is 5. And we know that after dividing 5x by 5 the quotient is x and after dividing 10 by 5 the quotient is 2.

Therefore, we can have 5(x + 2). Using the distributive property we can check our work.
5(x + 2) = 5x + 10
