Discuss the difference between short-term and long-term fitness goals, and give an example of each

A short term fitness goal is where you want to achieve a goal in a short period of time. A long term fitness goal is where your working on a goal for a long period of time.

Short Term: I'm going to lift wights for a month to help with my strength.
Long Term: I'm going to start running for at least a year to lose weight.
