A success of the Carter administration was the signing of the Camp David Accords.
Jimmy Carter is an American politician of the Democratic Party who was the thirty-ninth president of the United States (1977-1981).
His term as President of the United States was marked by important foreign policy successes, such as the treaties on the Panama Canal, the Camp David peace agreements (peace treaty between Egypt and Israel), the SALT II treaty with the Soviet Union and the establishment of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China.
The Camp David Accords were signed by Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin on September 17, 1978 after twelve days of secret negotiations with the mediation of Carter, and through which Egypt and Israel signed peace in the territorial conflicts between both countries.
