1) Cat. The structure of the bones of the arm are the most similar in the cat, differing only in size and a slight variation in arrangement in the hand.

2) All of these organisms except the bird have five finger-like projections

3) The bones leading up to the hand are almost identical, but the bones at the end are very different. Bird's wings have feathers branching from the arm bones, while the bat's wing has its "fingers" running through the skin that makes up the wing.

4) A whale's forelimb is most likely to be similar to a dolphin's flipper.

5) The similarities in structures of the forelimbs of all of these animals suggest they evolved from a common ancestor that had this fundamental structure of a forelimb, and then their limbs specialized for a specific function over time.
