When solving a system of equations, how do you determine which method to use?

If one of the variables is isolated or can be isolated without any fractions left, then use substitution.

If both equations are in standard form, then you should do elimination.

Another method is graphing, although it can be inaccurate at times (and graphing is the hardest method to use if you're new), so i would recommend the two methods I listed above.
