The middle passage affected enslaved africans in many ways. There were extreme living conditions. This includes being tightly packed and stacked on top of eachother into the bottom of a ship and only having 4 ft of room for each slave. There was no where to pee or poop, so the took care of business where they were, which created sickness and death. Sometimes slaves had to be pushed overboard because the ships had too much "cargo" already. Most of the slaves that were pushed overboard couldn't swim, so they died. Alot of slaves hurled themselves into the ocean committing suicide.
