The perimeter of a college athletic field is 9696 meters and the length is 1818 m more than the width. Find the length and width.

9696 = 2x + 2(x+1818)       9696 = 2x + 2x + 3636       6060 = 4x       x = 1515        The width is 1515m and the length is 1515+1818 = 3333m         Proof: 3333*2 + 1515*2 = 9696
