so... she was making $1,500, then her salary got slashed by 10% of that
find how much 10% of 1,500 is, the subtract "that amount" from 1,500
and that's what she's makes now

then later one, whatever that is, gets bumped by 20%
find 20% of that amount you found, and add it to it
