Answer:

Option C. $384

Explanation:

Cost to refinish a wood floor is given as $216

Family has to refinish floor of a larger room and ratio of the corresponding sides of the rooms is
(3)/(4).

Since sides are in the ratio of
(3)/(4) so area will be in the ratio of
((3)/(4)) ^(2)=(9)/(16)

Now ratio of the cost to refinish the rooms will be same as the ratio in their areas.

Let $x be the cost to refinish the larger room.

(9)/(16)=(216)/(x)

By cross multiplication

9x = (16)(216)

9x = 3456

x =
(3456)/(9)

x = $384

Therefore Option C is the answer.
