Which element of modernist poetry is evident in this excerpt from "The Negro Speaks of Rivers" by Langston Hughes?

The element is probably that it's free verse instead of traditional rhyme, beat, and measure all being crucial. In free verse poetry you make the rules. That's why I prefer writing that way personally.
