a.) Let x be Kim's sister's age. Kim's age would therefore be 2x.

b.) 2x + x = 36

c.) 2x + x = 36

3x = 36

x = 12

d.) So Kim's sister (x) is 12.

e.) Since Kim's age is 2x, Kim is 24.
