like many objects, musical instruments undergo thermal expansion. What problems does this cause musicans?

I'm no physicist, but i am a musician. I know every time my saxophone gets hot or cold it plays terribly out of tune. That's why band rooms have certain temperatures that they must remain at all year. It is especially hard to play the exact note/pitch when the instrument is not at a comfortable temperature.
