19 = 4p + 5
- 5 -5

14 = 4p
--- ----
4 4

p = 3.5

19 = 4p + 5.
-5. -5 Minus 19 and 5 by 5.
------------------
14 = 4p You are left with 14 = 4p
3.5 = p Divide 14 and 4p by 4

So, p equals 3.5
