So 1/4 is 25 percent.
That means that the sales price, $42 is 75% of the regular price.
42 divided by 3 is 14.
14 plus 42 equals 56.
So $56 is the regular price.
To check, multiply 56 by .25
This equals 14
56-14 equals 42.
