When rates are expressed as a quantity of 1, such as 2 feet per second or 5 miles per hour, they are called unit rates. To calculate the unit rate, we just divide the distance traveled by the time it takes. Therefore, the unit rate of the rider would be 11.6 miles per hour. Hope this answers the question.
