Malthus discussed that as the population of workers increase, there is the possibility that the production of food and supplies will not be able to accommodate the growing population. The result is that wages will go down. Since wages will go down and food is scarce, the cost of living will go up and the population will eventually do down until there is enough resources for the people. At this point, the wage will go back up.
