The price of a share of a stock was $37.50 yesterday.

a. Today there was a price decrease of 4%. What is today's price?

b. Based on today's price in part (a), what percent of change is needed to bring the price back up to %37.50? [Round to the nearest tenth of a percent, if necessary]

A. So we have 37.50 and a decrease of 4%

First things first, turn 4% into a decimal. 0.04

Next, we multiply 0.04 and 37.50 and that gives us 1.50

That is the decrease, so we need to subtract 1.50 from 37.50 and we get...

$36.00
