The width is given as x.
The length is twice the width, so is 2x.
The height is 3 less than the width, so is x-3.

The volume is (length)*(width)*(height), so is (2x)(x)(x -3). Eliminating parentheses, the volume in cubic feet is represented by the polynomial ...
2x³ -6x²
