The ratios are calculated to know the quotient of two quantities. In order to find the ratio, the first quantity is written in numerator i.e. the upper part of the fraction and the second quantity is written in denominator i.e. the lower part of the fraction.

Here, it is given that the total number of Maths teachers are = 16

Total number of Maths students are = 1856

The ratio of Maths teachers to Maths students is calulated as -

Ratio of Maths teachers to Maths students =
(Maths Teachers)/(Maths Students) =
(16)/(1856)

Ratio of Maths teachers to Maths students =
(1)/(116) = 1:116
