How far can a plane fly if it flies at a rate of 170 miles per hour for 4 hours?

The relationship between space, time and velocity for a uniform motion is given by:

S=vt
where
S is the distance covered
t is the time
v is the velocity

The plane in our problem has a velocity of

v=170 m/h
and so during a total time of t=4 h, the distance it covers is

S=vt=(170 m/h)(4 h)=680 mi
therefore, 680 miles.
