First, graph the expression by making sure it goes through 10 on the y-axis and since it shows -4 that means for every 1 unit to the right the y coordinate moves 4 boxes down. (Your graph should look like a downwards slope)

Now, pick 2 points on your graph, ill pick (0, 10) and (1, 6)

Now, put these in point-slope form and you will get your slope

Point-Slope form

m=y2-y1/x2-x1
m= 10-6/0-1
m= 4/-1

m=-4

Also, you can just see that it's the slope by the graph by using rise over run.
