In a performance test, each of two cars takes 8.4 s to accelerate from rest to 27 m/s. car a has a mass of 1374 kg, and car b has a mass of 1876 kg. find the net average force that acts on (a) car a and (b) car b during the test.

Average acceleration = 25/ 8.4 = 2.976 m/s/s

Force on A = m . a = 1344 . 2.976 = 4000 N

Force on B = 1843 . 2.976 = 5485 = 5500 N
