Let's look at the equation to finding the area of a trapezoid:
(b1+b2)(h÷2)=A; let's fill the variables in.
(14+22)(8÷2)=A
(36)(4)=A
144=A

So, the area of the trapzoid is 144 ft².

The area of a trapezoid is found by averaging the bases and multiplying the height. to average the bases, you take 22ft + 14ft to get 36ft and then divide it by 2 since there are 2 numbers to average to get 18ft. Then you just multiply that by 8ft to get your area of 144ft^2 (square feet).
