An elements atomic number is 30. How many protons would an atom of this element have?

Hi ;)
First of all, The number of protons is always equal to the number of electrons in a neutral atom.Since we have 30 protons and 30 electrons ,the positive charge on the proton is cancelled by the negative charge on the electron leaving a neutral atom.

Positive 30 and negative 30 equals 0.

Therefore , that atom would have 30 protons .

The atomic number is the number of protons. If the atomic number is 30, then the atom will have 30 protons.
