Hello there!

x + x + 2y - x + 3y

Answer: x + 5y
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Explanation/Work:
_______________

x + x + 2y - x + 3y

We must add like bases.

x + x - x

this would be x

Now, we have x + 2y + 3y

So, 2y + 3y

This would be 5y

So now we have x + 5y

This would be our answer
