-4(- (1)/(8) + 0.3)

Rewrite decimal to fraction:

= -4(- (1)/(8) + (3)/(10))

Change the denominators to be the same:

= -4(- (1 * 5)/(8 * 5) + (3 * 4)/(10 * 4))

Simplify each fraction:

= -4(- (5)/(40) + (12)/(40))

Add the fraction in the bracket:

= -4( (7)/(40))

Multiply:

= -(7)/(10)

Hey there! :)

-4(-1/8 + 0.3)

Simplify this by using the rainbow technique.

(-4 × -1/8) + (-4 × 0.3)

Simplify.

Remember that a negative times a negative is a positive while a positive times a negative is a negative.

(1/2) + (-1.2)

Get rid of parenthesis.

1/2 - 1.2

Change 1.2 into a fraction.

1/2 - 1 2/10

Multiple 1/2 by 5/5 so that both of our fractions have the same denominator.

1/2 · 5/5 = 5/10

So, our new question looks like this :

5/10 - 1 2/10

Change 1 2/10 into an improper fraction.

5/10 - 12/10

Simplify.

-7/10

Change it into a decimal.

-0.7 → b is our final answer :)

~Hope I helped!~
