The area of the shaded region will be given by:
Area=(area of rectangle)-(area of square)
area of rectangle is given be:
A=length*width
A=4x*(7x-5)
A=28x^2-20x

area of the square is given by:
A=length*length
A=x*x=x^2
The area of the shaded will be represented by the expression as follows:
(28x^2-20x)-x^2
=27x^2-20x

Answer: 27x^2-x^2
