A quadratic equation can be written as:

ax^2 + bx + c = 0

First, let's factor out a 3 from both terms on the left:

x^2 + 6x + 5 = 0

Move the constant to the other side:

x^2 + 6x = -5

Now, to complete the square, we need to find:

( (b)/(2))^2

( (6)/(2))^2=9

Now add this value to both sides of the equation:

3(x^2 + 6x + 9) = 4

Factor:

(x+3)^2=4

Find the square root of both sides:

x + 3 = ±2

x = -5 and x = -1
