A rectangular mat has a length of 12 in. and a width of 4 in. Drawn on the mat are three circles. Each circle has a radius of 2 in. Some friends play a game throwing darts onto the mat to see who can land a dart in one of the circles. Assuming that a dart always lands on the mat, what is the probability that a dart thrown at random will land inside one of the circles? Use 3.14 to estimate Pi. Enter your answer, as a decimal rounded to the nearest hundredth, in the box. P(landing in a circle) = The figure shows three circles side by side inside a rectangle. The length of the rectangle is labeled 12 inches, and the width is labeled 4 inches. The radius of each circle is labeled 2 inches.

Area of the rectangular mat = 12 x 4 = 48 in²

Area of the 3 circles = 3( πr²) = 3(3.14 x 2²) = 37.68 in²

P(landing in a circle) = 37.68/48 = 157/200 = 0.79 (nearest hundredth)

Answer: The probability of landing in one of the circles is 0.79.
