We use one whole to take away 1/7 part and 1/3 part to find the remaining part which is shaded:

1 - (1)/(7) - (1)/(3)

Convert all the fractions to the same denominator, LCD being 21:

= (21)/(21) - (3)/(21) - (7)/(21)

Combine them:

= (21-3-7)/(21)

Simplify them:

= (11)/(21)

\boxed { \boxed {\text {Answer : } (11)/(21) \text { of the circle is shaded.}}}

1/7 plus 1/3 is 10/21, and 21 minus 10 is 11 so it's 11/21
