Answer: y = 3x -2

Explanation:

1) slope formula

y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

2) find the y's and x's

y2 = 10

y1 = -2

x2 = 4

x1 = 0

3) plug them into the equation

10 - (-2) / 4 -0

10+2/4

12/4

4) simplify

slope = 3

5) write out equation

y = 3x + b

6) plug in coordinates

(0,2)

-2 = 3(0) + b

7) find the y intercept

-2 = b

8) plug in y intercept

y = 3x -2
