For a mutation to affect evolution

The mutation must give the organism a better chance at overall survival against others in the population. If they are able to live long enough to reproduce, their beneficial mutation can be passed on to their offspring & eventually make changes to the population as a whole if the conditions are right.

Hope that helps!

Answer:

Yes, it do affect evolution.

Step-by-step explanation:

One of the mutations is the change in DNA, the inherent substance of life. Biology's DNA influences how it looks, how it behaves, and its physiology. So changing the DNA of a organism can cause changes in all aspects of its life and its evolution. Variations are essential for development. So they are the raw material of genetic variation and evolution.
