At the end of the First Continental Congress, it was decided that the colonies would refuse to import, export or consume any product from or destined for Great Britain. They wrote a Declaration of Rights and Grievances for the British people and the settlers, but they also sent a letter of petitions to the king, an unequivocal sign that the feelings were still confusing and the independence thesis had not yet settled permanently.
