The probability is 5/36.
The sample space for the sum of two dice being rolled is:
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
There are 5 8's in the sample space of 36.
